Boot Camp

C.O.L.A. Bootcamp began in January 2010 with only 4 clients. By word of mouth, the client base has grown to 25. The competitive advantage of Bootcamp is the environment created in the facility. Clients receive personal training attention in a group environment. People feel more relaxed and comfortable in a program that is focused solely on them, but also have the reassurance of having a friend there for encouragement.
At the first interview, clients are encouraged to share their goals for the program, including weight loss goals, strength training goals, cardio goals and an overall wellness program. They are also expected to talk about their eating habits, food allergies and food obsessions. Clients are not locked into set days, but are locked into a set time. Each session is 45 minutes long and contains strength training, resistance training, cardio, boxing and kick-boxing. Weights are used during the strength training period and elastic bands are used during resistance training. Boxing gloves are worn during the boxing and kick-boxing sessions. Clients are encouraged to keep a food diary. This enables them to see what they eat and to make adjustments or substitutions which align with their desire to be led a healthy lifestyle.
Bootcamp helps clients understand the logic of “you are what you eat”. Physical activity along with healthy eating is necessary to combat obesity.
